EN_MTGKTK_PRK_banner_728x90

SEPTEMBER 20, 2014  KHANS OF TARKIR PRERELEASE

PRERELEASES (All players need to be pre-registered. Space is limited)

Prereleases provide you with the earliest possible opportunity to play with the newest cards in Magic. Prereleases are enjoyable casual events that encourage fun over competition. You can plan to play all day in multiple events your store runs, or drop by for a single event.

The Hobbit Hole will offer two main tournaments.

Friday at 11:59pm.
Saturday  12pm.
Please arrives 30 minutes before start time!

You can preregister here:

https://squareup.com/market/terry-bishop

FORMATS

Prereleases are Sealed Deck format events, where players are given Prerelease Packs and time to construct a 40-card minimum deck.

Prerelease Packs make deck-building more exciting with the inclusion of specialized, “seeded” booster packs and regular booster packs that let players choose a focus for their deck.

Players who are uncomfortable building a Sealed Deck may participate in Open Dueling instead of the main tournament. Open Dueling players use an Intro Pack to experience the new set a week before it hits shelves.

LEARN MORE ABOUT FORMATS

PRIZES

Players get to keep all of the cards opened in their Prerelease Pack or Intro Pack. In addition Prerelease Packs contain a premium foil Prerelease promo to keep. Players who participate in the tournament also have a chance to win additional booster packs of the newest set—an exclusive opportunity to take home even more of the latest cards before they’re available to purchase in stores! Additional prizes will be offered.

4-0: 8 Khans of Tarkir Booster Packs
3-0-1: 6 Khans of Tarkir Booster Packs
3-1: 3 Khans of Tarkir Booster Packs
Four round participation completion: 1 Core Set 2015 Booster Pack

RULES

Prerelease events focus on fun and enjoying the upcoming Magic expansion, allowing players a chance to experience the newest cards in a fun and stress-free environment. That said, as Sealed Deck tournaments, they follow certain rules for deck construction and play.

  • Decks must be constructed with a minimum of 40 cards
  • Decks may only be built using cards opened in the Prerelease Packs assigned at the beginning of the event, and no outside cards may be added.

From the ring bearer #2

Hi Gamers and comic fans,

The Grand Opening was a great success and we were so happy to see all of you throughout the day.  Hopefully you enjoyed the free tournaments and comic give-aways.  We also had a good time at the screening of the Lord of the Rings out back on the lawn.  The nest lawn movie will be on Friday night the 11th of July. The movie will begin at dusk and we will feature the Star Wars episode #1, “The Phantom Menace”  We will have Popcorn, snacks and sodas available at our snack bar so join us and enjoy the show.

I’d like to congratulate the winners of last weeks Yu-gi-oh and Magic tournaments and we are looking forward to this weeks challenge.  Yu-gi-oh on Thursday @ 7PM and Friday night Magic will also be at 7PM where we will also celebrate the Independence of our great nation.  FREE Iced tea for the evening!

The first monthly comic swap went well and we will have the second on the 26th of July so come out and see what our venders have available …at great prices!  If you have anything to sell or trade booths are only $15 and we provide your table. Our booths are 100sf and are covered to keep you cool and collected.

Once again we really appreciate your patronage and we couldn’t exist without you so … Thanks once again,

Strength and Honor, Sarge
